Competition Rules
These Official Competition Rules ("Rules") govern each free simulated-trading competition ("Competition") offered on refractfunding.com by Refract Funding ("Refract Funding" or "Sponsor"). When an active season exists, its name, scheduled end, simulator starting balance, eligible top percentage, discount percentage, and eligible Evaluation tier displayed on the leaderboard are the "Season Details" and form part of these Rules.
No purchase is necessary to participate or qualify for a discount. A purchase will not improve your score or eligibility. The Competition uses simulated funds and does not place real trades. It is a performance-based competition scored under the method below; discounts are not distributed by random drawing.
1. Agreement and priority
By participating, you agree to these Rules, the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Risk Disclaimer. If the Season Details conflict with these Rules, the Season Details control that season's timeframe, simulator starting balance, eligible top percentage, discount percentage, and eligible Evaluation tier. These Rules control Competition eligibility, scoring, tie-breakers, verification, and administration.
2. Eligibility
To enter or receive a reward, you must:
- be at least 18, the age of legal majority where you live, and any higher age required by local law;
- have one valid personal Refract Funding account with accurate information;
- participate only from a place where the Competition and reward are lawful and available;
- comply with these Rules and the fair-play requirements in the Terms; and
- complete any reasonable age, identity, location, account-ownership, fair-play, and other legally required eligibility verification requested for a reward.
Refract Funding may declare a location or person ineligible where participation or use of the reward would violate law, a provider restriction, legal eligibility requirement, or a material program risk. The Competition is void where prohibited. If local law requires additional disclosures, registration, or approval that Refract Funding has not completed, residents of that location are not eligible for a reward.
3. Season period
The countdown in the Season Details is the live-discount deadline. Eligibility ends at that deadline or an earlier manual close. Refract Funding then marks the season ended and resets every free simulator contest account to the configured starting balance with $0 season P&L. Paid Evaluation and funded accounts are separate and are not reset by a Competition finalization. Finalization does not create or carry forward a leaderboard discount. If Refract Funding cannot determine a reliable live ranking, it may extend, rerun, or cancel the season under Section 11.
4. How to enter
An eligible signed-in Refract Funding account with an active free simulator account is automatically included in the season leaderboard. This includes an eligible account created before the season even if its holder does not sign in or place a trade during the season. Creating or signing in to an account during the season likewise provides access to the free simulator and leaderboard. Each eligible person may participate through one Refract Funding account. No separate enrollment, trading activity, purchase, Evaluation, payment, or mail-in step is required. Internet access and a supported browser are required; your ordinary provider charges may apply.
5. Competition score
The leaderboard score is the sum of: (a) realized simulated profit and loss from eligible prediction-market positions and combinations closed or finally settled during the season, net of simulated fees; (b) simulated perpetual profit and loss, including banked closes and the current executable mark, when available, on an open perpetual position; (c) eligible Discord invite-reward credits posted during the season; and (d) eligible X native-repost credits posted during the season. Open prediction-market and combination display values do not count. Because an open perpetual mark does count, score and rank can move with the referenced order book even without a new fill.
The leaderboard is not a trading-only ranking. Discord invite credits and X repost credits can affect rank. The current credit and per-account cap for each program are displayed in its feature and may change prospectively. A credit already validly posted during a season will not be reduced merely because a later season uses a different amount.
A Discord invite credit counts only when all displayed invite conditions are met, including:
- the invited person joins the Refract Funding Discord server through the participant's valid personal invite;
- that person signs in to Refract Funding, permanently links the same Discord identity to its first Refract Funding account, and satisfies the server's displayed verification-role requirement;
- the Discord identity has not previously qualified and is not a bot, duplicate, or server-only join; and
- the inviting account has not reached the displayed cap.
An X repost credit counts only when all displayed repost conditions are met, including:
- the participant permanently links the X identity to its first Refract Funding account before reposting;
- the participant makes a native repost of an eligible original post published by the official Refract Funding X account during the applicable active season; quote posts, replies, and reposts made before linking do not count;
- the repost remains publicly visible and is returned by X's API throughout the displayed verification period, which begins when Refract Funding first observes the public repost; the full verification period must finish before the applicable active season ends, and private, deleted, unavailable, or otherwise unverifiable activity does not qualify;
- the same X identity has not already qualified for that post and has not reached the displayed lifetime cap.
Refract Funding may remove a credit produced by a removed, reversed, or invalid event, duplicate identity, bot, collusion, self-referral, system error, or violation of these Rules.
6. Ranking and tie-breakers
Participants are ranked from highest to lowest Competition score. The current server-side rank after applying the scoring method and tie-breakers controls live discount eligibility. If scores are equal, ties break in order by:
- higher eligible simulated trading volume;
- higher eligible trade count;
- ascending public Refract Funding user identifier as the final deterministic system tie-breaker.
The user-identifier tie-breaker is administrative and does not add value to the account. A display-name change cannot improve a participant's rank.
7. Live leaderboard discounts
While a season is active, an eligible account qualifies for the displayed Evaluation discount only when it is currently within the top percentage shown in the Season Details and its Competition P&L is strictly greater than $0. An account at exactly $0 or below does not qualify. The qualifying rank cutoff equals the number of ranked accounts multiplied by the displayed top percentage, rounded up to the next whole rank. For example, with 11 ranked accounts and a top-20% setting, ranks 1 through 3 are inside the cutoff.
Eligibility changes whenever rank, P&L, or the number of ranked accounts changes and is checked again by the server when checkout begins. The discount may be used on each eligible checkout of the configured Evaluation tier while the season remains active. No new discounted quote is created after the season ends. A checkout quote validly created while the account was eligible keeps its displayed fixed price until that quote is completed, replaced, or expires. No durable discount, coupon, or award is issued from final standings or carried into a later season. Setting either the top percentage or discount to zero turns the live discount off. The Season Details control the current top percentage, discount, and tier, and Refract Funding may update those settings prospectively during an active season subject to applicable notice and non-waivable rights.
The discount is personal to the eligible account, non-transferable, applies only to the configured Evaluation tier, and has no cash value or cash substitute. At checkout it stacks additively with one valid affiliate code, subject to a maximum combined discount of 100%. General marketing language does not create an additional discount.
8. Live-discount eligibility and review
A displayed row or checkout preview may be delayed and does not guarantee a discount. Refract Funding may require identity, age, location, account-ownership, legally required eligibility, and fair-play verification before allowing a live discount to be used.
A discount may be denied if the account is ineligible, provides inaccurate information, does not complete a required check, or violates these Rules. Removing one account does not create a post-season award for another account.
9. Fair play
Participants must make their own decisions and use one account. Multi-accounting, account sharing, coordinated or offsetting accounts, fabricated activity, collusion, self-referrals, bots, scripts, exploiting stale data or system errors, manipulating a market or score, harassment, payment fraud, and attempts to bypass a cap or eligibility control are prohibited. Refract Funding may investigate relevant account, trade, referral, device, network, and Discord records and may remove invalid activity, adjust a score, disqualify an account, or deny a live discount after a reasonable review.
Other forms of misconduct which are not listed here may also result in denial of our services.
10. Data and technical errors
Market data, settlement information, simulated calculations, invite data, and leaderboard displays may be delayed or wrong. Refract Funding may correct a clerical, data, settlement, scoring, or system error. Live eligibility is determined from the underlying server-side account, rank, ledger, invite, and market records. Closing a season does not create discounts. A participant may request review of a suspected error by contacting support promptly and providing relevant details.
11. Suspension, modification, or cancellation
Refract Funding may pause, modify, extend, or cancel a Competition if fraud, a security incident, widespread outage, data failure, provider action, force majeure, or legal requirement materially impairs fair administration. Any change will be limited to what is reasonably necessary, announced where practical, and applied in a manner Refract Funding reasonably believes preserves fair treatment. A live discount already applied to a completed purchase will be handled under the purchase terms and applicable law; an interruption does not create a post-season award.
12. Publicity and privacy
Leaderboards and public profiles display the information described in the Privacy Policy. Where permitted by law, Refract Funding may describe a participant's public display name, avatar, rank, and use of a live discount. Any additional use of a participant's legal name, likeness, or testimonial for marketing will be based on separate permission where required.
13. General conditions
Refract Funding's decisions about administration, eligibility, scoring errors, and rule enforcement are final to the extent permitted by law, but participants may submit a good-faith error or eligibility appeal to support. The warranty, liability, dispute, and non-waivable-right provisions in the Terms apply to the Competition. These Rules do not waive any right or remedy that cannot legally be waived.
Refract Funding is independent from Kalshi, Polymarket, Discord, and other referenced platforms. Unless expressly stated in the Season Details, those parties do not sponsor, endorse, or administer the Competition.
